 Courier Connection Inc. The more people dislike metro Atlanta's traffic-clogged roadways, the better business is for John Lauth, founder and CEO of Courier Connection.
The 6-year-old company offers same-day and rush delivery services in the Atlanta area and long-distance delivery from Atlanta to anywhere in the continental United States. "We know people don't want to get in traffic, so we tell them to let us do it," Lauth said.
For Courier Connection, speed and flexibility are key selling points. Courier Connection's revenue jumped from almost $1 million in 2003 to about $4 million in 2004. Lauth attributes the growth to a combination of aggressive marketing and improved technology.
After renting a car that had an on-board navigation system, Lauth decided to install the technology in all of his company's vehicles. The change has made his drivers faster and more efficient. Customers also benefit from the technology because it allows them to track deliveries in real time.
